Congratulations to the Anaheim Ducks, not mighty anymore since this year. But like I said before they we’re the favorites to win since the season started and they just followed through with it. I was listening this morning to Rogen and Simmers squared and they had the usual ducks broadcasters on. They said that same thing but they put a wrinkle into it saying that its easy being the favorite to win. It’s a lot harder and it takes a team with character to actually pull it off. Dallas Mavericks anyone?

Even though I’m not a hockey fan I realized that this team was on the brink of winning it all. Obviously two years ago they got to the finals game 7 and lost. I recall watching that series and seeing Giguere win the mvp for the playoffs but being the loser. They were that close, kind of like the Mavericks. The year after they played horrible and Giguere wasn’t the same. Following year was a lockout and then two seasons later they are the champs. You have to credit the new ownership and the new General Manager Brian Burke for bringing in this year’s playoff MVP Scott Niedermayer (to play with his brother Rob), and Chris Pronger, and bringing back Teemu Selanne, to the team. Nice mix of veterans and apparently some good young talent. That always seems to be the ingredients for a championship. Oh and “defense” helps.
I’ve been feeling lazy these days to write my normal daily SSCSR! The problem has been that when the baseball teams are on the west coast games don’t end till at least 9:30pm, usually going beyond to 10:00pm. So I’ve been feeling kind of lazy, maybe I need to do it in the mornings from now on.
