I think I’ll be doing this as a daily feature I’ll talk about the what happened in sports today in So Cal
- It was yesterday but let me give love to those Anaheim Ducks! I actually watched the 3rd Period and it was quite exciting. After the game, those commentary guys said “If you aren’t a hockey fan, after watching this game you probably will be.” Close, but it sure did intrigue me a bit to watch it again tomorrow.
Dodgers Win 10-0 against the Washington Nationals.
- Brad Penny being 1st “half of season” Brad Penny. Lets hope he can continue this after the All Star break.
- Juan Pierre goes 4-4 all extra base hits. Grady moved him to the lead off spot again today. I was going to criticize him for that, but then look what Pierre did…
Angels Win 4-1 against the Seattle Mariners
- Well “home is where the heart is” Ervin Santana again showed what he’s capable of doing again, but at home. We’ve been saying this all along now that if he could translate this type of pitching to road victories he could be a Cy Young contender. Big IF. But he did it again for another game, but watching that first inning I thought he was gonna get shelled again. Ended up being the 1 run was all that he would give up
- Willits goes 2-4 with a run scored, O.C. goes 3-4 with a run scored. Kendrick and Napoli both 0-4. Man Howie come on I want to win a batting title with you!
- Shea Hillenbrand hits a 2 run HR to break the tie. Now what are we gonna do when G.A. gets back…
Kobe Kobe Kobe…
- What is there to say. Its been a few weeks since the Lakers have been eliminated from the playoffs. We already know that Kobe was frustrated and was looking to management to make some changes to make the team a contender. But why this, and why now. I think the story from ESPN that Kobe wants out if Jerry West isn’t back was bogus. Just ESPN trying to get ratings like it normally does. That’s not to say that Kobe was trying to say that he does want West back. But lets face it, its not going to happen the way Kobe wants it to. West is never gonna take Kupchak’s job as General Manager, and as a consultant that means he’s not making all the decisions. Anyway the way I see it, this shouldn’t even have been brought up. Now we have this whole soap opera thing, at least that’s what the media is trying to make of it, between the people making the decisions for the Lakers.
- Kobe says he didn’t ask for Shaq to leave in his Blog today. Of course he didn’t. Not out loud anyway. Lets not go back to Shaqpocalyspe like Vic the Brick calls it. No idea why this came out all the sudden today….
Fantasy Stat of the Day (for my Fantasy Baseball team)
Oliver Perez – 7.0 IP 5 Hits 3 ER 8Ks 3HRs given up – No Win…
Billy Wagner – 1.0 IP 0 Hits 0 ER 2Ks 1BB – No Win….
- The point.. The game was tied and the Mets squander both chances to win the game. Damm Vizquel and that dazling play that he made to rob
meBilly Wagner of a Victory!
